"#படைவீடு : இந்த பாழடைந்த நகரம் மாவட்டத்தில் மிகவும் சுவாரஸ்யமான ஒன்றாகும். 

இது தற்போது 654 மக்களைக் கொண்டுள்ளது என்றாலும், இது ஒரு அரச வம்சத்தின் தலைநகரம் என்று பாரம்பரியம் கூறுகிறது, இது பல நூற்றுக்கணக்கான அல்லது ஆயிரக்கணக்கான ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு நாட்டில் இப்பகுதியில் ஆதிக்கம் செலுத்தியது. இது #குறும்பர் அரசையே குறிக்கிறது என்பதில் சந்தேகமில்லை.

நகரம் 16மைல் சுற்றளவில் இருந்தது, மேலும் கோவில்கள், மண்டபங்கள் மற்றும் சிறந்த பொதுமக்கள் குடியிருப்புகள் நிறைந்திருந்தது.

சாந்தவாசலின் தற்போதைய கிராமங்கள் மற்றும் அங்கு கண்காட்சி அல்லது சந்தைகள் நடத்தப்பட்டிருப்பதன் மூலமும் பூக்கடை சந்தை நடைப்பெறும் இடமான புஷ்பகிரி 4 மைல் இடைவெளியில் இருப்பதையும் கொண்டு நகரத்தின் அளவை மதிப்பிடலாம். 

இந்த நகரம் தூசி மற்றும் கற்கள் மாரியாக பொழிந்து மூழ்கடிக்கப்பட்டதாக நம்பப்படுகிறது, இது அதன் அற்புதமான கட்டிடங்கள் முழுவதையும் மூழ்கடித்ததுள்ளது, காடுகளும், புதர்களும் நகரத்தின் முழுப்பகுதியையும் நிரம்பியுள்ளது. சமவெளியில் இரண்டு விரிவான ஆனால் பாழடைந்த கோட்டைகள் உள்ளன, சந்தேகத்திற்கு இடமின்றி இது #குறும்பர்களால் எழுப்பப்பட்டது, மற்றொரு கோட்டை நகரிலிருந்து பார்வைக்கு தென்படும் ஜவ்வாது மலைகளின் உச்சியில் உள்ளது."

"Padavedu - This desolated city is one of the most interesting in the district. Though it now contains only 654 inhabitants, tradition says that it was the capital of a dynasty, which many hundreds or thousands of years ago held sway in this part of the country. This no doubt refers to the #Kurumbas. 

The town was 16 miles in circumference, and full of temples, choultries, and fine private residences. 

The extent of the city may be judged by the fact that the present villages of Santavásal, where the fair or santa was held, and Pushpagiri, the site of the flower market, are 4 miles apart. The city is believed to have been entombed by a shower of dust and stones, which overwhelmed the whole of its magnificent buildings Jungle has overgrown the whole area of the original city. There are two extensive but ruined forts upon the plain, built doubtless by the #Kurumbas, and another upon a peak of the Javáthu hills which overlooks the city."
